Minna depot disassociates from IPMAN factional warning strike
Tunde Bolaji – Minna
Minna Depot chapter of Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria IPMAN, has said it was not joining in the alleged strick action threatened by a faction .
Chairman of the chapter in Minna, Alhaji Adamu Erena has therefore disassociated itself from the ongoing Northern Petroleum Marketers 3 day warning strike over unpaid bridging claims.
Erena in an interview in Minna described as factional marketers strike that can not get the desired results hence must unite to achieve the goals of the association.
He said that the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation NNPC is indebted to the markers through Petroleum Equalization Fund (PEF) to the sum of over N600 billion, adding that the strike was not well planned to get the desired outcome.
The chairman lamented over the inability of the NNPC and federal government to refine PMS in the country and the imported refined product are being sold to the private depots in the country at unofficial price hence its availability at unapproved rate across the country.
Adamu Erena challenged the federal government to immediately removed the petroleum subsidy before the forthcoming general elections to ensure that the citizens are used to so as to avoid politicizing the policy.
It could be recalled that Northern IPMAN Forum has declared a three day warning strike from 5th to 8th September, 2022 over non payment of their PEF debt.
