2023: Fayose absent as Saraki, Tambuwal, others hold meeting with Makinde
The former Governor of Ekiti State and a Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Ayodele Fayose was absent as Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde held a secret meeting with four presidential aspirants of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ibadan.
The presidential aspirants who include former Senate President and former Governor of Kwara State, Bukola Saraki, Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State, Governor Bala Muhammed of Bauchi State and Muhammed Hayatudeen arrived the Governor’s office at 3:50pm and were ushered in.
Though the meeting is still going on as at the time of filing this report, our correspondent gathered that the meeting might have been arranged over the issue of 2023 general elections.
While some are advocating for a consensus presidential candidate, others, especially those at the meeting are opposed to it.
The former Governor of Ekiti state, Ayodele Fayose we gathered has also shown interest in becoming the next Nigeria’s president in 2023 under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
