Amidst frequent attack by terrorists on Land, Rail and Road transport in the Northern part of the
country, President, National Association of Nigeria Travel Agencies ( NANTA), Mrs Susan Akporiaye has
urged the federal government to step up and activate proactive security measures that will avert future
attacks on the existing infrastructure in the transport industry, across the country.
Akporiaye decried the illicit act of the bandits on the Aviation and Rail sector while commiserating with
family of victims in the last Kaduna- Abuja rail incidents and suggested that the pro active measure

agencies in charge of the critical aviation systems need to be put on the highest level of alert at the
airports and its environs to ensure safety of users; all operators and workers in the aviation sector
should also be profiled daily; cargo and passengers sections should not have free public access but kept
under effective surveillance at both local and international airports in the country,” she said.
Meanwhile to the families of Kaduna – Abuja rail incident victims, Mrs Akporiaye says NANTA condoles
with them and also pray for quick recovery of those that sustained injury from the attack.
” Our hearts bleeds for our people and nation at this point in time. We urge everyone to remember our
leaders and nation in prayers but most importantly, let us join hands together to take back our country
from the hands of bandits and sponsors of dislocation of national developmental MILESTONES,” She
maintained.
