Ebonyi 2023: Izzi Clan will be Stupid to allow Sen. Egwu returns to Senate third term- Mbam

The former Youth President of Izzi Nnodo Youth Forum Mr. Morris Mbam have charged his people not to allow Senator Samuel Ominyi Egwu, go for the Senate the third term come 2023.
According to him, Izzi people with three local government Areas out of four LGAs in Ebonyi North, have not been to the Senate twice and insist that if his people allows Senator Egwu attend the Senate seat for the 3rd term, it will mean that Izzi people have sold their birth right.
Morris Mbam gave the charge to his people while declaring to run for the House of Representatives to represent the people of Abakaliki/Izzi Federal Constituency under the platform of People’s Democratic Party PDP.
According to Mbam, no Izzi man has had two term in the Senate even being themajority with three local government and one LGA to minority where Egwu hails from.
Mbam, said “in my own understanding, Izzi people have allowed themselves to be used. In ordinary lay understanding, tell me possible it is for Sam Egwu to go to the Senate without the Izzi support, it not possible. No Izzi man has had two shot in the Senate and we have given Sam two shots and he still wants a third term, is Izzi people not stupid? We are very stupid! One local government and one little community the Izhia, there are not in majority in Ohaukwu the local government of Sam Egwu because Ngbo people are higher in number but Sam Egwu has taken two shots and he wants to take a 3rd shots and he is shouting equity, who is deceiving who? You said you don’t eat rat but you use your mouth to share it with your children.
“He who goes with equity, goes with a clean hands and the challenge we have in Ebonyi is that the young ones are not ready to fight. Tell me how long we will continue to keep our fate in the hands of these leaders when we actually see that they have nothing to give us? The worst thing that will happen to Izzi people is allowing Sam Egwu attend that seat for the 3rd term. It means that Izzi people have sold their birth right, we have done enough for Sam Egwu after all, this governorship they are talking about, Sam Egwu took the shot of the Ebonyi North as a minority, minority minority and he took the shot of the Izzi people. Izzi has three local governments and there is no reason why Sam Egwu would have even touched the seat of Governor if we telling ourselves the truth and here he is today having served as Minster, having served as two term Senator and he wants to go for a 3rd term. Does it mean that there is no young person in Izzi that can be a Senator?
Mbam also warned his brothers running for the governorship position to unite together and support each other.
“It is true that Izzi is majority but majority without unity will not work. I have told many people, we can’t be running for Governor and it will be a sectional Governor; Igbojima is running for a sectional Governor and it will be a sectional Governor.
” How can Igbojima run for Governor and you are not working with your brother, the Unwuera? That makes it nonsense. How can the Unwuera be running for Governor and you are not making use of Igbojima? In Izzi now, there are about eight contestants running for governorship, so, how do we make it? This is why it is difficult for some people like us.
“So, my position is that whoever wins in Izzi, we will all rally round him whether he is Igbojima or Unwuera but it is the end that will justify it but it would have been better assuming there is a leader because what Izzi lack is leadership, we don’t have a leader. The essence of a leader is that he galvanizes his people to stay together. As it stands, there is no way Izzi people can stand and speak with one voice because the two brother want the same thing.
However, Mbam has assured to return peace and unite his people to end crises in the clan when he wins in the 2023 election. According to him, the issue of a kindred dichotomy has been one of the basic challenge that is facing Izzi people.
