Nassarawa Governor, Moringa Association Chairman deliberate ahead of 2000-hectare agricultural project opening

By: Jabiru Hassan.

A brief but important deliberation was held on 3rd October 2026, at Re-Seingon Luxury Hotel, Akwanga LGA, Nasarawa State, between the Executive Governor of Nasarawa State, His Excellency Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule, the Honourable Commissioner for Works, Housing and Transportation, Hon. Kwanta Yakubu, and the Chairman of the Moringa Productions Marketers and Farmers Welfare and Empowerment Association of Nigeria, Dr. Ashimashiga Michael Akoloaga (FIISSN).

The engagement came ahead of the forthcoming Opening Ceremony of the 2,000-Hectare Moringa Plantation, Integrated Agricultural Production and Animal Feedlots/Colony Project, with discussions centred on the planned presence of the Governor and other government stakeholders to visit, see and assess the farmland and other facilities allocated to the Association by the Federal Government through the Lower Benue River Basin Development Authority.

The visit is expected to provide an opportunity for government stakeholders to appreciate the scale, economic potential and employment opportunities of the project, as well as consider areas of government support and collaboration toward large-scale job creation and economic empowerment for Nasarawa State citizens through organic agricultural cultivation, Moringa production, animal husbandry, E-Moringa Organic Fertilizer production, processing and other agricultural value chains.

Eden Moringa Group, alongside the Association, is equally developing an ambitious international export programme for 100% organic Moringa products, vegetables and other agricultural produce, with plans to explore airfreight through Nasarawa State’s cargo-airport infrastructure to international markets including Dubai and the United States of America, alongside ongoing engagements with the USA–Africa Trade Desk and other international collaborators.

The forthcoming opening therefore represents an important step toward transforming the allocated 2,000 hectares of farmland and associated facilities into a major hub for organic agricultural production, animal husbandry, value addition, international export and sustainable employment creation for Nasarawa State and Nigeria.
