Former Ogun State governors Otunba Gbenga Daniel and Senator Ibikunle Amosun, alongside former governor and APC national leader, Chief Olusegun Osoba, have been given key roles in the party’s campaign council ahead of the 2027 elections in the state.

Daniel, who currently represents Ogun East in the Senate, and Amosun were named Deputy Grand Patrons of the 156-member APC Campaign Council, while Osoba was designated Grand Patron.

The state governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, will chair the campaign council, with the party’s governorship candidate and Senator representing Ogun West, Senator Solomon Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, serving as co-chairman.

Former Senator representing Ogun East, Senator Lekan Mustapha, was appointed Director-General of the campaign council.

The appointments were contained in a document signed by the Ogun State APC Chairman, Chief Yemi Sanusi, and made available to journalists on Tuesday.

Other prominent members of the campaign team include the Deputy Governor, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, and the party’s Deputy Governorship candidate, Alhaja Kudirat Adegunwa-Balogun, who will serve as Deputy Chairmen.

Sanusi will serve as Vice Chairman, while the Secretary to the State Government, Mr Tokunbo Talabi, and the Minister of State for Health, Dr Kunle Salako, were named Vice Director-General, Campaign Operations, and Vice Director-General, Administration, respectively.

The campaign council also includes members of various committees saddled with the responsibility of driving the APC’s mobilisation and campaign activities across the 20 local government areas of Ogun State.

According to Sanusi, the council comprises party leaders, political stakeholders and other key members of the APC who will coordinate grassroots mobilisation, media and publicity, logistics, contact and mobilisation, as well as youth and women engagement.

He said the committees were constituted to strengthen the party’s structures and ensure effective coordination of its activities ahead of the 2027 elections.

Sanusi urged members of the various committees to work together to secure an overwhelming victory for the APC in the presidential, governorship, senatorial, House of Representatives and State House of Assembly elections.

The unveiling of the campaign council marks a major step in the APC’s preparations for the 2027 elections as the party intensifies its mobilisation and consolidation efforts across Ogun State.
