Spain delivered a stunning attacking performance at the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup on Thursday, demolishing New Caledonia 11-0 in their Group F encounter in Poland.

The defending European champions were virtually unstoppable, racing into a 5-0 lead before half-time and adding another six goals after the restart to record one of the biggest victories in the history of the competition.

Patricia Comendador opened the scoring in the 10th minute before Marisa extended Spain’s advantage seven minutes later.

Clara Segura added a third in the 33rd minute, while Alba Cerrato struck two minutes before the break to make it 4-0.

Marisa then completed her brace in first-half stoppage time, sending Spain into the interval with a commanding five-goal lead.

The onslaught continued immediately after the restart. Segura found the net again just a minute into the second half, while Comendador scored her second in the 49th minute.

Segura completed her hat-trick four minutes later before converting a 65th-minute penalty to claim her fourth goal of the match and put Spain 9-0 ahead.

Clara Julia added a 10th goal in the 89th minute before Rosa D. Navarro completed the extraordinary rout deep into stoppage time.

The result gives Spain maximum points from their opening two matches after they began their campaign with a 2-0 victory over Nigeria.

With six points, Spain are in a commanding position at the top of Group F and have strengthened their prospects of making another deep run in the tournament.

For New Caledonia, the heavy defeat represents a major blow to their hopes of reaching the knockout stage. The tournament debutants are still searching for their first goal and point in the competition.
