2027: Ogun APC fires up grassroots, as Caucus 7202 mobilises 180,000 for Adeola

By: Lauretta Fagbohun, Abeokuta.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State has intensified its grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections, with Caucus 7202 announcing plans to mobilise about 180,000 members across the state in support of the party and its governorship candidate, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi.

The mobilisation was announced on Thursday at the Dipo Dina International Stadium, Ijebu-Ode, where thousands of APC supporters from the 20 local government areas converged for a mega rally in support of Adeola.

Addressing the gathering, Governor Dapo Abiodun declared that the APC was fully prepared for the 2027 elections, saying the massive turnout demonstrated the party’s strength, unity and grassroots reach.

Abiodun urged party members and support groups to intensify mobilisation across wards and communities, while expressing confidence in Adeola’s ability to provide effective leadership if elected.

He also reaffirmed Ogun State’s commitment to delivering two million votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.

Adeola praised Abiodun as a “silent achiever,” saying his seven years in office had produced significant achievements. He pledged to build on the administration’s record if elected governor.

Adeola also dismissed claims of any working arrangement with opposition parties and urged APC members to remain vigilant.

The Director-General of Caucus 7202, Moctar Koiki, said the group had about 180,000 members across Ogun, with more than 90 per cent being non-partisan.

Koiki said the group would deploy its structures across the 20 local government areas to mobilise support for Adeola, Tinubu and other APC candidates.

The Ogun APC Chairman, Chief Yemi Sanusi, charged members to take the party’s manifesto, programmes and achievements to the grassroots as the campaign for 2027 gathers momentum.
