Sikiratu Sindodo opens up on battle with strange illness

Popular Nigerian actress Sikiratu Sindodo has opened up about her battle with a strange illness.

The Yoruba actress made this disclosure in an interview with Oyinmomo TV.

Speaking on the programme, the actress revealed that the sickness started as malaria and gradually worsened.

From being taken from one hospital to another, she said the sickness lasted for months. At some point, she was in a coma, and the doctor told her mum she had a 50/50 chance of survival.

Sikiratu said the doctors even told her mother to go home.

“I was sick like someone who had malaria. Malaria/typhoid, that was it, and that was how it started gradually. From one General Hospital to another. I can’t remember how long it lasted.

“I think it lasted for months because I was in a coma and was given a 50/50 chance. My mum was even told to go home.”

While speaking on her trials, Sikiratu, who said she didn’t want to get emotional, asserted that God truly answers prayers.

“God answered a lot of prayers in my life. God has been faithful because I don’t want to be emotional”.

Sikiratu said the experience was traumatic, but credited her recovery to faith and prayers.

The actress didn’t reveal any details about the diagnosis, but said the ordeal taught her to appreciate life and divine intervention.

Sikiratu Sindodo is a familiar face in Yoruba cinema, known for her roles in indigenous films and has joined a growing list of Nollywood actors who have spoken publicly in recent years about health challenges.
