The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA) to strengthen collaboration on enterprise digital transformation and accelerate Nigeria’s digital economy growth.
The Memorandum of Understanding was signed at GITEX Nigeria 2026 with the aim of fostering strategic partnerships that will drive technology adoption, innovation and digital inclusion across key sectors of the economy.
This was disclosed in a statement published on NITDA’s website, which noted that the partnership would establish a framework for developing a collaborative ecosystem that promotes technology adoption, digital innovation and capacity development.
According to the agency, the initiative will place particular emphasis on Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), helping businesses leverage digital tools and technologies to improve productivity, competitiveness and growth.
NITDA stated that the collaboration is expected to facilitate stronger partnerships among government institutions, the private sector, technology companies, academia, investors and development organisations, creating a more coordinated approach to digital transformation.
The partnership will also support joint advocacy efforts and programmes aimed at advancing a competitive and inclusive digital economy, while encouraging wider participation in the country’s digital development agenda.
A key component of the MoU is the strategic collaboration towards the successful development and institutionalisation of the Digital Nigeria International Conference (DNICE) 2026 and subsequent editions.
The agency noted that strengthening the conference platform would further position it as a catalyst for digital transformation, innovation and economic growth, while providing opportunities for stakeholders to exchange ideas and explore emerging technologies.
NITDA added that the agreement reinforces its commitment to working closely with the private sector and other stakeholders to accelerate Nigeria’s transition into a digitally enabled, innovative and globally competitive economy.
The agency expressed optimism that the collaboration with NACCIMA would help unlock new opportunities for businesses, drive digital adoption across industries and contribute significantly to the country’s long-term economic development objectives.
