Thugs killed my father, after our lives cries victim’s son

Still in the trauma of political tragedy, tension is greatly mounting with more persons  reportedly missing on daily basis as everyone one becomes a suspect.

Such is the case of Sunday Nwajei and siblings, whose father, late Chief Patrick Nwajei was believed to have been gruesomely murdered by political thugs due to his growing political influence in his ward.

Speaking to our currespondent, Suday Nwajei, one of the sons disclosed that the problem started due to his father’s political party affiliation in his constituency in Delta State, Nigeria.

According to him, the late father made some political landmarks, which threw the political opponents into disarray, stressing that he was subsequently threatened to back out.

He said, “At several occasions, my father was attacked on his way to the state capital, while my mother was also physically manhandled which led to her death.

“In several occasions, these thugs had visited my father’s house, buggled it, destroyed household properties as well as setting fire on his car.

“In one of the attacks, some of my siblings and myself were hometo celebrate with our father, but only to flee the village amidst heavy shooting and violence in my father’s house which he never recovered from till his death.

He said,”I have since the last three years be living in an undisclosed environment, while my wife and children have been distributed to some very close family friends until I am able to secure documents for us to relocate out of the country. The county is terribly in bad shape with regards to insecurity,” he lamented.

Confirming the story, a neighbor Onyeka Emmanuel Okaondu, stated that the thugs occasionally pay visit to late Chief Patrick compound.

He said, “I don’t know why these politicians are evil. They have succeeded in killing the man and the wife, why are they still after the family of the late politician. The man was a good man.

“I even heard that some of his children have fled the country, seeking safety as these thugs have been storming their homes in the city and even their children’s schools.

“I heard from a reliable source that the most senior escaped assassination on his way to the church recently. That one has also gone into hiding,” he stressed.

On his part, Nnebuogor Odume, a neighbor stated that no member of the family has visited home after the burial of their father for the fear of being killed .

Odume pointed out that the family members are still having a deep secret which is why their detractors want them dead at all cost.
