Taskforce Operatives arrested 500 animals in Niger state.

The Joint Taskforce set up by the Niger state government have intercepted over 500 animals at Kuchi and Galadiman- Kogo, Alawa and Erena communities of Munya and Shiroro local governments areas of the state
State Commissioner of Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Internal Security, Emmanuel Umar made the disclosure while speaking to newsmen in Minna.
He said that the recovery consisted of over 300 cows and over 100 sheep to be kept under Ministry of Livestock.
According to him, the inception of the animals was sequel to an onslaught that results to neutralizing many bandits and some security operatives casualties in the two local governments recently.
He added that the late personnel family would be taking care of by the government while appreciating their sacrifice to Nigeria.
The Commissioner noted that the state government have concluded plans to establish a committee to fashion out modalities to identify the real owners of the animals and if otherwise auction them and remit the proceeds to the state treasury.
Mr Umar said the onslaught on bandits is a continuous exercise until the state is rid of all rustlers, kidnapping and other criminal elements, although did not announced the number of arrest made so far in connection with the recovery.
He stressed that provisions were made to secure the the animals until their owners come forward to claim them, appealing to the public to support governments strive to rid Niger state of criminals.
