Pipeline Infrastructure Nigeria Limited (PINL), a surveillance firm securing Nigeria’s oil facilities in four Niger Delta states, namely Bayelsa, Rivers, Imo, and Abia, says with optimism that the Nigerian oil and gas industry can meet the 2.5 million barrels per day (mbpd), which is the standard set by the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC).

The surveillance firm gave the assurance through its general manager, community and stakeholders relations, Mr. Akpos Mezeh, during the May monthly stakeholders meeting with Bayelsa communities in Yenagoa, the state capital.

The firm noted that due to the proactiveness of surveillance teams and effective collaboration with all stakeholders, Nigeria has achieved 99.2 percent of OPEC’s crude oil daily production standard, representing a 7.58 percent increase when compared to March, 2026.

Mezeh said, “Recent reports of the 5th of May, 2026, indicate that Nigeria recorded significant progress in the oil and gas sector. In March 2026 alone, NNPCL recorded a profit after tax of N276 billion while national crude oil production continues to increase alongside remarkable growth in gas production.”

He said the peak of production in April was 1.85 million barrels per day, while the lowest in the same month was 1.46 million barrels per day.

The PINL official disclosed that there was zero disruption attempt on the oil pipeline in Bayelsa, Adebawa, and Biseni axis for the past one month, leading to the recorded increase in production, attributing the success to the patriotic disposition of all stakeholders.

“Behind every increase in production lies the sacrifices and cooperation of communities, surveillance teams, traditional rulers, security agencies, and other stakeholders,” he said.

Mezeh encouraged stakeholders and surveillance teams to remain proactive and diligently fulfil their obligations across their operational areas. He also disclosed that the firm has fulfilled all its financial obligations to all the host communities in the areas.

The highlight of the monthly stakeholders meeting was the presentation of empowerment dummy cheques of N250,000 to 1000 women each as part of the PINL’s corporate social responsibility to oil-bearing communities in the Niger Delta.

In their responses, one of the beneficiaries, an elated Mrs. Love Theophilus, expressed gratitude to the surveillance firm, describing the gift as a source of great financial breakthrough, praying that God should bless the management of Pipeline Infrastructure Nigeria Limited.

She enjoined co-beneficiaries to invest the fund in meaningful businesses.

Also appreciating the firm were Nurse Ozogu and Abowei Dimiekumo, who promised to make good use of the largesse. They urged other oil companies operating in the Niger Delta Region to emulate the firm.
