Benue North East Senatorial District (Zone A) aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Cephas Tushima, has called on the people to resist the culture of “cash-and-carry” politics, where leadership is treated as a personal investment rather than a sacred trust.
Addressing a press conference in Makurdi, Benue State, Prof Tushima stated that “the example of His Excellency, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, has shown that disciplined, selfless, and accountable leadership can deliver real change”.
”That is the standard I align with, and that is the standard I commit to uphold, he declared.
He noted that for decades, Kwande Local Government Area has suffered a glaring injustice in the political arrangement of the senatorial district.
”Justice delayed must not become justice denied. This is not just about Kwande—it is about fairness, inclusion, and the unity of our senatorial district”.
He took a swipe at representatives of the zone who were quiet when the interests of the people of the area mattered the most, a reference to the relocation of the Federal Polytechnic from Kwande Local Government Area.
”Together, let us rise to correct the past, redefine leadership by performance, and secure a stronger, more inclusive future for Benue North-East”, he concluded.
Tushima’s professional journey spans decades of service in the development and property industry, academia, administration, leadership, and corporate governance
