Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, has officially submitted his Governorship nomination form to the All Progressives Congress (APC), affirming his intention to seek a second term in office ahead of the 2027 general election.
According to the statement issued by Comrade Ahmed Idris, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, to Journalists in Birnin Kebbi, the nomination form was presented on Monday at the Sheraton Hotel Abuja, where the APC National Organising Secretary, Alhaji Suleiman Argungu, received it on behalf of the party.
Argungu expressed strong confidence in Governor Idris’s leadership and electoral prospects, commending his administration’s achievements in infrastructure development and improved livelihoods for the people of Kebbi State.
“The APC is proud to have a leader like you. Your impact on both infrastructure and human development in Kebbi State is evident. We are confident in your ability to secure victory in 2027. This is reality, not speculation,” he stated.
“We do not doubt your capacity to deliver in 2027. This is not fiction but reality,” he said.
Responding, through his deputy, Sen. Abubakar Umar-Tafida, appreciated the party’s continued support and reaffirmed his commitment to consolidating on the gains already recorded.
Gov. Idris, through his deputy, also called on the people of Kebbi State to sustain their support, assuring them of his administration’s dedication to delivering more dividends of democracy.
The governor was accompanied by prominent party leaders and government officials, including the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Sen. Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, former governor and lawmakers such as Senator Adamu Aleru and Senator Yahaya Abdullahi, Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Yakubu Bala-Tafida, Acting Speaker Kebbi State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Samaila Muhammad Bagudo, and Senator Muhammad Magoro.
Others included State APC chairman, Alhaji Abubakar Kana Zuru, Secretary of the 2023 Campaign Council Abubakar Usman Gotomo, Commissioners, State APC Women Leader, members of the Federal House of Representatives such us member representing, Bagudo/Suru, Hon Bello A Kaoje, Arewa/Dandi, Hon Rabiu Kamba, Yauri/Ngaski/Shanga, Hon Garba Uba Yauri, Birnin Kebbi/Bunza/Kalgo, Ibrahim Bello Muhammad, Chairman Due Process, Alhaji Sirajo Garba Bagudo, Special Advisers, former Special Adviser Political, Alhaji Kabir Sani Gaint, Sanusi Gwandu, Accountant General of the State, Alh Ibrahim Bello Nahaliku, ALGON Chairman, Alhaji Nayaya Ambursa, Alh Abubakar Shehu Naingila and former DIG among others.
The submission of the nomination form marks a significant step in Governor Idris’s political journey as he prepares to seek a renewal mandate to continue his administration’s development agenda in Kebbi State.
