The Imo State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Mrs Ruby Emele, has called on the citizenry to holistically support governor Hope Uzodimma’s power sector reforms, road rehabilitation initiative and health care delivery system for economic growth and Sustainability.

Hon. Emele made this call while addressing newsmen in Owerri, the capital of Imo State.

She commended the governor for creating opportunities in the areas of power generation, road infrastructure, human capital development and health care delivery.

Hon. Emele stressed that given the rate of blackouts, it would be necessary for the people to support the governor’s efforts so as to ensure steady power supply and fresh perspective.

The Commissioner said, “Governor Hope Uzodimma is doing a fantastic job with electricity generation, road infrastructure and health care delivery and needs all the encouragement.

“To the glory of God, we have started seeing the results as the work is progressing systematically.

“The New Owerri area now has power, and gradually it will trickle down to the local government areas outside the capital city”.

“These projects, when completed, would position Imo for greatness and open up the state as the economic hub, for the Southeast” she stated.

Hon. Emele eulogized the governor for sustaining commitment to developing the state, despite serving second term. She envisaged a successor, who would believe in continuity.

She said, “The governor is ready to work until his final day in office, and we pray that God will give us someone who will continue the good works and even do more after his tenure.
