Hon. Dennis Idahosa on Tuesday assured the creative sector in Edo State of Governor Monday Okpebholo’s administration readiness to work with them and develop talents available to the State.
He gave assurance when he played host to members of the creative community in the State in his office on Wednesday.
In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Friday Aghedo, the deputy governor, expressed the government’s resolve to build synergy and support for the creative community as their success would help galvanise support for the SHINE Agenda.
The entertainers, drawn across the three senatorial districts of the state, Idahosa solicited for their continued support for the administration.
While acknowledging the group’s contribution to the development of the state, the deputy governor promised that the government would look into their proposal.
“The Okpebholo led administration is not unaware of inputs made by the entertainment industry in Edo State.
“The abundance and actualization of creative talent has helped to give meaning to government policies, especially those which focused on strengthening youth empowerment, job creation, and talent discovery.
“This has gone a long way to boost the SHINE Agenda of the Edo State Government
“This government is always ever ready to work with you and account for the reason why the governor appointed one of you, Solomon Okosun, to work in this administration.
“This is the foundation of support from the Edo State Government to the creatives,” he noted.
Earlier, the entertainers, led by Amb. Solomon Okosun, Director of Entertainment and Creative economy, Edo Creative Hub appealed to be carried along in the activities of government, and also soft loans to support their crafts that is capital demanding.
The membership of the entertainers comprised of comedians, actors, photographers, videographers, musicians, content creators, models, hypemen, Deejays, filmmakers, and videographers.
