KEDCO MD/CEO receives Commander, 3 Brigade Nigerian Army, Kano

The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO), Dr. Abubakar Shuaibu Jimeta, has received the Commander of the 3 Brigade Nigerian Army, Brigadier General AM Tukur, DSS, psc(+), fwc(+), rcds, CM, FCM, during a courtesy visit at the company’s headquarters in Kano. 

The visit aimed to strengthen the existing relationship between KEDCO and the Nigerian Army, particularly in the areas of protecting critical power infrastructure and ensuring the safety of electricity assets across the franchise area.

Speaking during the visit, the MD/CEO of KEDCO expressed appreciation to the Nigerian Army for its continued support in safeguarding power facilities and maintaining security within communities served by the company. 

He emphasized that electricity infrastructure remains vital to socio-economic development and requires strong collaboration with security agencies to prevent vandalism and other threats to power installations. 

The MD/CEO noted that KEDCO remains committed to delivering improved and reliable electricity supply to customers and looks forward to continued collaboration with the Nigerian Army in protecting distribution assets and ensuring operational stability. 

In his remarks, the Commander of the 3 Brigade, Brigadier General AM Tukur, commended KEDCO for its role in powering homes, businesses, and industries within the region.

He reiterated the Nigerian Army’s commitment to supporting initiatives that promote national development and ensuring the protection of critical national infrastructure.

 Both parties reaffirmed their readiness to sustain collaboration that will enhance security around power facilities and contribute to improved electricity service delivery within Kano and its environs. 

The meeting concluded with a mutual pledge to strengthen engagement between KEDCO and security agencies in order to support uninterrupted electricity supply and the protection of vital infrastructure.
