Veteran Nollywood icon Pete Edochie has delivered a blunt verdict on Nigeria’s worsening economic realities, revealing he spends about ₦40,000 daily just to power his home.
Speaking on AIT’s Jigsaw programme, the 78-year-old lamented the burden of basic amenities, saying ₦10,000 goes to electricity bills while another ₦30,000 is spent on diesel and fuel.
Beyond the cost of living, Edochie accused political leaders of neglecting the South-East region, citing the lack of railway infrastructure as an example of marginalisation.
His remarks reflect growing frustration among citizens grappling with rising costs and failing public services.
