The Secretary to Kebbi State Government, Alhaji Yakubu Bala-Tafida, has urged the civil servants in the state to reciprocate the gesture of His Excellency, Comrade Dr Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu by ensuring efficient and effective service delivery.

The SSG made the appeal on Monday while officially resuming duties at his new office at the new Multi-Billion Naira Bola Ahmad Tinubu State Secretariat completed by the present administration under the leadership of Gov. Idris.

Addressing Journalists shortly after assuming office in the new edifice, Bala-Tafida emphasized the need for the workers to demonstrate appreciation for the huge investment made in completing the project, which had previously been abandoned.

“We thank Allah (SWT) for granting our governor the wisdom, courage and the ability to complete this project. As you can see, this is now my new office, and all ministries are accommodated here. We are indeed very grateful for this,” he said.

The SSG assured that the new secretariat would comfortably accommodate about 25,000 workers, and urged civil servants to ensure proper maintenance of the facility for their collective benefit and the overall interests of the state.

In his remarks, the Kebbi State Head of the Civil Service, TPL Malami Shekare, commended the governor for his numerous interventions aimed at improving the welfare of civil servants in the state.

He listed key achievements to include approval and implementation of N75,000 minimum wage for all categories of workers in the state, regularisation of casual workers to permanent, recruitment of qualified agile teachers, nurses among others.

On the maintenance of the new structure, the Head of service disclosed that the government would assign the responsibility to a company, that would be saddled with the ensuring proper upkeep of the edifice.

On his part, the contractor, who executed the project, Chief Executive Officer of M-Tech Nigeria Limited, Engr Manir Jega, appreciated the governor for awarding the project to an indigenous company.

He noted that the opportunity given to the company and the its timely delivery of standard project demonstrated that indigenous contractors are capable of executing projects to specification and within schedule.
