Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side Remo Stars have confirmed the appointment of Usman Abdallah as their new technical adviser in a bid to revive their faltering season.
Abdallah steps in following the departure of Daniel Ogunmodede, who previously guided the Ikenne-based club to their historic league triumph last campaign.
However, this season has been far less convincing, with Remo Stars currently fighting to avoid relegation. They occupy 19th position in the standings, having gathered 27 points from 27 matches.
The new technical adviser is expected to take charge of his first game when Remo Stars face his former side, Katsina United, in an upcoming league fixture. Club officials are hoping his experience and tactical nous will help stabilise performances and steer the team away from the danger zone.
Meanwhile, preparations continue across the league as teams gear up for the next round of matches. Kano Pillars have been working intensively ahead of their NPFL clash with Shooting Stars.
The Sai Masu Gida squad held a high-energy training session at Sani Abacha Stadium, where players underwent tactical drills under the supervision of technical adviser Mohammed Babaganaru.
Reports from the club’s social media channels described the session as focused and competitive, with the coaching staff emphasising tactical discipline and strong commitment ahead of the match.
Kano Pillars are determined to build on their recent performances and secure valuable points as they continue their campaign.
The upcoming fixture against Shooting Stars will take place at the Lekan Salami Stadium, where both sides will be eager to strengthen their positions in the league table.
