The Lawmaker Representing Kaura Namoda/Birnin Magaji Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Aminu Sani Jaji has faulted the recent wards and Local Government Area congresses conducted by All Progressive Congress APC in Zamfara state, calling for concrete measures for timely reconciliation within the party.

In a press briefing held Today, Monday, 23/2/2026 at his residence at Tudun Wada Area of Gusau the state capital, the Lawmaker maintained that, the recent wards and Local Government Congresses was full of irregularities, illegalities and marginalization.

He called on the National working Committee, Honourable Dr. Bello Matawale and other esteemed leaders of the party to cancel the Congress.

In his words Rt. Hon. Aminu Jaji said, I am addressing you today regarding our party congresses scheduled for the 18th and 21st. The committee sent from national headquarters of APC allegedly conspired with some members and other elements, abusing the dignity of APC members in my constituency and Zamfara State at large.

Some members were denied equal opportunity to participate in the party congresses at ward and local government levels, despite paying for nomination and expression forms via the party-designated accounts.

Members approached the state Organizing Secretary to obtain the forms, but were denied. The state Organizing Secretary pursued their complaints, but the National Financial Secretary and National Chairman have not responded till now.

We are concerned about the reported kangaroo congress held without APC members’ participation, contradicting our party constitution.

Some reports suggested that, participants were from PDP and other opposition parties, undermining our party’s guidelines.

We call on the National Chairman to Address and cancel the kangaroo congress, also, we urge the National Working Committee to dissolve the state working committee for inclusivity and fairness and set up a new date for a fair congress.

We appeal to His Excellency, Minister of State for Defence and immediate past Governor of Zamfara State, Bello Matawalle, as party leader in the state (as per party tradition and rules), to intervene and save the party.

We also urge the committee constituted by the President to reconcile APC members, intervene and resolve the Lingering Crisis in the state to avert the repetition of 2019 incidents

We call on the Party members who contested and forms were not issued to them to remain calm and wait for updates. We hope for a timely, precise, and fair response” Jaji reiterated.
