Edo Dep Gov describes late Idahosa as a bridge builder, resilient leader

The deputy governor of Edo state, Hon. Dennis Idahosa has eulolgised and described the late chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Charles Idahosa as a bridge builder, and resilient leader whose dedication to the growth and development of the state is worthy to emulation.

Idahosa was said to have made this assertion while fielding questions from newsmen shortly after the funeral service of the APC chieftain who passed away at his Benin resident in December 2025.

According to a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Friday Aghedo, the deputy governor noted that Idahosa was a leader that brought all his people together for good.

“Unlike what we have right now where our leaders have this notion of dragging someone down for them to go move up, he was a very formidable leader who had the interest of the entire people.

“We are surely going to miss him, especially in Edo South. All we can do is to emulate the legacies he left behind,” he stated.

Earlier in his homily, the Presiding Bishop of the Anglican Communion, Rt. Rev. DR. Peter Imasuen talked about life and its vanity.

He encouraged the people to imbibe the value of good work, which to him transcended the physical existence of man, for it was the true measure through which human value got measured.

Idahosa, 72, rose to political prominence when he was elected as Chairman of Uhunmwonde Local Government Area in 1996.

Idahosa who also later held several political positions both at the state and national levels, was appointed the Edo state commissioner of Information and Orientation by the Chief Lucky Igbinedion led administration in 2003.

The late APC chieftain and a foundation member of the party, is well known for his outspokeness on issues that concern the Edo state and Nigeria in general.
