Veteran Nigerian comic actor Wale Akorede, popularly known as Okunnu, has publicly accused popular film marketer Olasco Films of refusing to pay him for a movie project completed years ago.

Speaking during a now-viral interview on the SAWORO programme hosted by Olugbenga Oropo Valentine, the actor said the issue still hurts deeply and remains unresolved.

Okunnu described the unpaid fee as his “sweat,” revealing that despite producing, directing and starring in the movie, he never received any financial reward.

“I once did a movie for Olasco, and he didn’t give me anything. Not even ₦5 for pure water till this moment,” the actor lamented.

He added that forgiveness has not come easily, openly declaring that he still harbours resentment over the incident.

“I don’t know if I’ll be paid on judgment day. As of this moment, I haven’t forgiven Olasco. Mr Akeem Balogun Olasco, I haven’t forgiven you,” he said.

Okunnu further revealed that the movie titled Aare was released in two parts simultaneously and reportedly generated income.

“I wrote Aare, directed it, and played the lead role. Both parts came out together, yet I didn’t see a dime. I’ll be lying if I say Olasco gave me anything from my sweat,” he added.
