The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has formally announced the constitution of a powerful 50-member Wise Men and Women Policy and Manifesto Committee, naming Former Governor of Edo State, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, as Chairman, and renowned political economist, Professor Pat Utomi, as Deputy Chairman.
The committee, approved by the party’s National Working Committee (NWC), received the endorsement of the ADC National Chairman, Senator David A. B. Mark, GCON, as part of efforts to craft a credible, people-driven and forward-looking policy framework ahead of future electoral contests.
Also appointed to the high-level body is Salihu Lukman, who will serve as Secretary.
In a statement issued by the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, the ADC said the committee is made up of distinguished Nigerians drawn from politics, academia, civil society, the private sector, and public service.
According to the party, members of the committee bring “a rare blend of experience and expertise in governance, economic management, social development, security, and democratic reform,” positioning the ADC as a serious alternative platform for national leadership.
“The committee is tasked with articulating a clear, coherent and credible policy direction that reflects the aspirations of Nigerians and responds to the country’s pressing challenges,” the statement said.
The ADC stressed that the initiative reflects its belief that Nigeria’s problems require solutions anchored on competence, integrity and national consensus, adding that the committee’s work would form the backbone of its manifesto and governance philosophy.
The formal inauguration of the committee is scheduled for Monday, February 2, 2026, at 12 noon, at the Conference Hall of the ADC National Secretariat, Abuja.
Party members and key stakeholders have been urged to take note of the development.
