The Coalition of South East Youth Leaders (COSEYL), the apex socio-political youth group in the South East geopolitical zone, committed to good governance and the socio political development of the Igbo Nation hereby issues a clarion call to a son of Igbo land, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, to heed the overwhelming desire of the people and present himself for the Abia South Senatorial seat in the 2027 general elections.

According to them, this call is born out of a deep-seated yearning for effective, purposeful, and result-oriented representation.

This was made known through a statement made available to newsmen by the President General of the association, Comrade Goodluck Ibem and Publicity Secretary, Comrade Okey Nwaoru.

“The people of Abia South Senatorial District have endured twenty years of representation that has, regrettably, failed to translate into tangible democratic dividends. While senators from other constituencies have attracted significant federal projects, infrastructure, and empowerment programmes to their people, the story in Abia South has been one of stagnation and unfulfilled promises. Twenty years is more than enough time to make a lasting impact; the evident lack of concrete projects and transformative leadership is a painful reality our people can no longer afford.

“In this critical hour, the gaze of Ndigbo, particularly the vibrant and forward-looking people of Abia South, has turned to a proven leader, advocate, and patriot: Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro.

“Mazi Isiguzoro is not a newcomer to service. His credentials speak volumes:
Former President General of the Ohanaeze Youth Council (OYC), where he championed the cause of Igbo youth.
Former Secretary General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, where he played a pivotal role in the apex Igbo socio-cultural organization. Current Deputy President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, a position that underscores his maturity, sagacity, and deep understanding of the challenges and aspirations of our people.

“For years, Mazi Isiguzoro has been a vocal and courageous advocate for justice, equity, and the well-being of Ndigbo on the national stage. He possesses the requisite wealth of experience, political acumen, intellectual depth, and unwavering commitment to public service that Abia South desperately needs. His leadership will not be one of mere occupation of office, but of active, productive, and visionary representation.”

The submitted that the people of Abia South are tired of fruitless representation and earnestly desire a change—a shift from rhetoric to results, from complacency to competitive development.

“They seek a senator who will leverage the hallowed chambers of the Senate to attract meaningful projects, advocate for policies that benefit our region, and restore pride and progress to Abia South.

“Therefore, COSEYL, as the voice of the South East youth and in alignment with the palpable desire of the electorate, passionately beckons on Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro to answer this patriotic call. We urge him to step forward and offer himself as a candidate for the Abia South Senatorial District in 2027. It is time to translate his years of advocacy into executive legislative action for his people.

We are confident that with Mazi Isiguzoro at the helm, Abia South will be set on a path of Renewed Hope, Accelerated Development, and Enviable Heights.”
