The Etsu Nupe and chairman, Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers, Alhaji (Dr.) Yahaya Abubakar, CFR, has confirmed the conferment of the Traditional Title of KAURAN KASAR NUPE on the Executive Governor of Kebbi State, Comrade Dr.Nasir Idris.

In a letter signed by the Etsu Nupe and made available to Newsmen on Tuesday, 16th December 2025, the monarch stated that the decision was unanimously reached by the Nupe Emirate Council to bestow the prestigious traditional title on the Governor.

According to the Etsu Nupe, the recognition is in appreciation of His Excellency’s resilience and commitment to recognising, sustaining, and further strengthening the long-standing historical relationship between Gwandu Emirate and the Nupe Kingdom, led by the Bida Emirate.

“This has opened new areas of collaboration and cooperation between the two dynasties. This outstanding quality of His Excellency cannot be better recognised than by conferring on him a Traditional Title in Nupe Land,” he said.

He further noted that, against this backdrop, the Emirate Council unanimously approved the conferment of the Traditional Title of KAURAN KASAR NUPE on His Excellency the Executive Governor of Kebbi State, Comrade Dr Nasir Idris.

” I therefore congratulate you on behalf of the Emirate Council and the entire Nupe Land on this great honour. I equally wish you a long reign as KAURAN KASAR NUPE in good health, peace and a fulfilled life with greater success in all your endeavours,” he added.
