The Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment (FMITI) has been formally recognized for attaining complete compliance in its ministerial deliverables, a milestone announced by Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HCSF) Mrs. Esther Didi Walson-Jack, during the launch of the Enterprise Content Management System (ECMS) at FMITI’s headquarters.

The event marked FMITI’s successful migration to the 1Gov ECMS platform, positioning the ministry to meet the federal government’s December 31, 2025, deadline for full digitalization. Mrs. Walson-Jack highlighted that the deployment supports Pillar 5 of the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan (2021–2025), enhancing interoperability, data protection, and real-time collaboration across government.

Honourable Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment Dr. Jumoke Oduwole, praised the Permanent Secretary, technical team, and project partners for their commitment, noting that coordinated effort and strategic partnerships enabled the ministry to achieve its digitization targets despite resource constraints. She emphasized that the ministry’s 100% performance underscores the value of focus, accountability, and teamwork in public service.

Senator John Owan Enoh, Minister of State for Industry, Trade and Investment, described the initiative as a step toward aligning FMITI with international best practices, while Galaxy Backbone Limited’s CEO Professor Ibrahim Adeyanju commended FMITI for embracing digital solutions to drive transparency and efficiency.

Permanent Secretary Ambassador Nura Abba Rimi disclosed that the digital reporting system went live within seven days of initiation, highlighting the ministry’s readiness and the HCSF’s adjusted schedule to accommodate FMITI’s launch.

The achievement positions FMITI as a leader in public sector digital transformation, paving the way for a paperless civil service by the end of 2025.
