The New Chairperson of Police Officers’ Wives Association (POWA) Ebonyi State chapter, wife of the DCP Emmanuel Chukwuemeka Ugwu Psc, mnips, Fsi, DC CID Ebonyi Police Command. Mrs Chioma Emeka Ugwu has taken over the seat as the Chairperson.

Mrs. Chioma, who assumed Office on December 20, 2025, paid a Solidarity visit to the Hon. Commissioner of Police, Adaku Anthonia Ucha-Anya. She commended the Commissioner of police for her generosity, accessibility, and her hard work in the state police headquarters, including saving lives and properties with mothering care towards police wives in general.

In spea, king, Mrs. Chioma pleaded with members of the Police Officers’ Wives Association to be homebuilduild their homes, and maintain personal and Environmental hygiene both in and out, including their Surroundings.

The Chairperson said women built their homes, that mothers are the Pillars of their families. She charges members to unite, love, and peacefully carry each other a. She asked that they be like a virtuous woman by praying with ceaselessness for their husbands and Children. “With prayers, we can do all things she said.

The Chairperson pleaded with the police wives during their first meeting and the 2025 end-of-the-year party on 13th December 2025 at the officers’ mess, police headquarters, Abakaliki, Ebonyi State.

Mrs Choma lamented that every police wife should be a good listener to their husbands, more especially when their spouse misses their attention or calls, or orders, which may be a result of the environment where they matter being a result of their activities during duties.

“Give listening ear to your spouses and do not ignore their calls when they needed your attentions the most”, many women are formed of rejecting their husbands calls, just because he couldn’t able to answer their calls when at their own time of calling.

Some women immediately picked an offenses without hearing reasons from their spouses, and when the man returned the calls, they sounded so aggressive that they never wanted to listen again from the man again. The danger of w mabebe at a particular time may cause him not to pick up calls, and when he is at your most need, you reject hearing from them.

The Chairperson encouraged members to love one another and make sure that all hands join together at one desk to build POWA and benefit one another. She pleaded to all hands to come together, to bring suggestions, ideals, and contributions to achieve the best in the present administration. Please everyone to support each other with love.

In speaking, the POWA secretary, Mrs Precious, and others welcomed the Chairperson and promised more support to carry everybody along and to achieve the same goals. She ensured that each POWA member to at least one POWA shop.

The Chairman, son at her assumption of of, inspected the police Barracks and ordered immediate environmental hygiene.  At the same time visited the Children’s School located at Central Police Station (CPS)Abakaiki.
