The Nigerian Army has declared Godwin Chukwudi Adoh, a middle aged man, wanted in connection with the March 14, 2024 ambush in Delta State that led to the killing of senior military officers and several soldiers.
According to military sources, the incident occurred while troops were responding to a communal crisis between Okuama and Okoloba communities in the Ughelli South Local Government Area of the State. The soldiers, deployed on a peacekeeping assignment, were reportedly ambushed in a coordinated attack that has since been described as one of the deadliest assaults on the Nigerian Army in recent years.
The attack claimed the lives of a Commanding Officer, two Majors, one Captain, Soldiers, and one civilian.
Security authorities alleged that Godwin Chukwudi Adoh played a significant role in the operation, prompting the Nigerian Army to place him on its wanted list alongside several others linked to the ambush.
Also declared wanted are: Akevwru Daniel Omotegbono, Prof. Ekpekpo Arthur, Andaowei Dennis Bakriki, Igoli Ebi (female), Akata Malawa David, Sinclear Oliki, Clement Ikolo Oghenerukevwe, Reuben Baru.
The Army said the suspects are believed to have either participated directly in the ambush or provided critical support to those involved.
Authorities are calling on members of the public with credible information about Adoh’s whereabouts or that of any of the other suspects to contact the Nigerian Army or the Department of State Services (DSS) immediately.
