President Bola Tinubu has renewed his administration’s determination to end terrorism and deepen Nigeria’s engagement with international allies, declaring that his government remains focused on building a secure and prosperous nation.

Speaking on Thursday at the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting held at the Aso Rock Villa, Abuja, the President said the time had come for collective action guided by his Renewed Hope Agenda. The session marked the council’s first since July and began with the President’s charge for unity and purpose among cabinet members.

“We are engaging the world diplomatically, and we assure all Nigerians that we will defeat terrorism,” Tinubu vowed. “The task ahead is to move forward with clarity of purpose, guided by our commitment to peace, stability, and prosperity.”

His comments followed recent global attention on Nigeria’s security landscape, particularly after U.S. President Donald Trump designated the country as a “Country of Particular Concern.” Tinubu described the move as a misunderstanding of Nigeria’s current realities, assuring that his administration is working closely with world leaders to promote cooperation, investment, and regional stability.

Highlighting investor confidence in the nation’s economy, the President cited the $2.3 billion Eurobond oversubscription as evidence that global markets believe in Nigeria’s direction. “Despite political headwinds, we will continue to engage with our partners,” he said. “The success of our Eurobond is a strong vote of confidence in our reforms.”

Tinubu also commended his ministers for their dedication to government reforms and urged them to remain steadfast in implementing policies that align with the Renewed Hope vision. “Our unity of purpose is our greatest strength. Together, we will build a Nigeria that stands tall in the comity of nations,” he added.
