The Delta State Police Command yesterday said its Ekpan Division rescued 3 male kidnap victims of Ubeji community, near Warri, just as the Bomadi Division recovered 178 cartridges from a 62-year old lady cycling along the Bomadi-Tuomo road.
Bright Edafe, Police Public Relations Officer, Delta State Command, in a statement said “operatives of the Bomadi Division under the command of its DPO, CSP Adie Peter Bissong, while on a joint stop-and-search operations with Bomadi Vigilante, on October 2025 at 12:30hrs, intercepted a motorcycle along the Bomadi-Tuomo Road with a 62-year-old lady”.
According to the statement ‘the uneasy cyclist conveying the 62-year-old woman was stopped and thoroughly searched and 178 live cartridges were discovered in a sack”, adding: “The lady-suspect admitted purchasing the cartridges from Onitsha Main Market”.
“The suspect and the recovered cartridges”, the PPRO said, “have been transferred to State Headquarters for discreet investigation for possible links to armed groups or black market suppliers”.
At Ubeji, acting on top-off, October 30, 2025, that kidnappers were operating behind the Ubeji Gas Plant, the DPO, CSP Labe Joseph moved swiftly with detectives and patrol operatives. Three victims, of Ubeji community, kidnapped at a Dredging Site were rescued and reunited with their families.
The police cordoned off a poultry house into which the suspects ran on sighting the police teams who closed in and arrested 7 suspects. Their names were given as Felix Omone (m, 31), Solomon Omone (m, 29), Tony Eboye (m, 34), Omone David (m, 32), Jerry Omone (m, 33), Godspower Omone (m, 25) and Edewho Bomale (m, 33), all now in police custody.
The Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Abaniwonda Olufemi, commended the professionalism of the operatives while tasking the public to report suspicious persons or movements to the nearest police station or the Command Control Room through 08036684974.
