Former Military Administrator of Sokoto State, Navy Captain Abdulrasheed Adisa Raji (rtd), has lauded Governor Ahmed Aliyu for fulfilling the expectations of the people who overwhelmingly voted him into office, describing his leadership as purposeful and result-oriented.
In a statement issued by the Director-General of Media and Publicity to the Governor, Abubakar Bawa, Captain Raji gave the commendation while receiving a souvenir from Governor Aliyu shortly after commissioning a 14-kilometre rural road project in Gwadabawa Local Government Area.
He praised the ongoing transformation across Sokoto State, noting that Governor Aliyu’s administration has demonstrated a strong commitment to people-centered development.
“You have moved Sokoto from step four to step eight. I’m sure very soon it will reach step ten,” Captain Raji remarked, expressing admiration for the Governor’s urban renewal initiative stretching from the airport to the city centre.
The retired naval officer emphasized the need for policy continuity in governance, stressing that citizens benefit most when developmental programmes are sustained across administrations. He also urged residents to continue supporting the Governor so that more dividends of democracy could reach communities across the state.
Captain Raji further commended the leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, for his unwavering contributions to national growth and political stability.
“Senator Wamakko is a good man. I pray Almighty Allah continues to elevate him, grant him good health, and increase him in wisdom,” he said.
In his response, Governor Ahmed Aliyu described Captain Raji as a patriotic Nigerian who served with discipline, sacrifice, and integrity. He expressed gratitude for the retired officer’s visit and for commissioning a project that directly improves the lives of Sokoto residents.
“We appreciate your presence and your words of encouragement,” Governor Aliyu said. “May Almighty Allah continue to guide and protect you in good health and peace.”
