In a poignant display of altruism, the Okofia Progressives Youths Movement has once again underscored its dedication to fostering educational development within the community.

The organization, in its characteristic manner, presented termly school fees to ten underprivileged children benefiting from its scholarship programme.

The ceremony was graced by a delegation of the movement, who, with great enthusiasm, handed over writing materials donated by the MTN (MOBILE TELECOMMUNICATION OF NIGERIA (MTN), courtesy of Prince Ọdịnaka Osumuo, from okofia and staff member of MTN Nigeria.

Hon. Amobi Okonkwo, leader of the Okofia Progressives Youths Movement, in his address, urged the beneficiaries to remain steadfast in their academic pursuits, emphasizing the importance of giving back to society upon attaining success.

He equally enjoined parents and guardians to ensure that the sacrifices made by the youths and other benevolent individuals are not in vain.

Hon. Okonkwo reiterated that the scholarship programme, initiated approximately three years ago under his leadership, is designed to be an ongoing initiative, and he thus called upon the leadership of the Okofia Development Union (ODU) and forthcoming youth leaders to continue nurturing the academic futures of these children as his tenure elapses this year.

Noteworthy, some of the beneficiaries, bereft of paternal care, are being supported through the programme, underscoring the critical nature of such interventions. Hon. Okonkwo appealed to community leaders to consider expanding the programme to accommodate additional children struggling to access basic education.

Mrs. Nwakaego, speaking on behalf of the parents, conveyed heartfelt appreciation to the Okofia Progressives Youths Movement for alleviating the financial burden of her daughter’s education from Primary 4 to JSS1. She expressed gratitude for the programme, praying for its sustainability and blessing the youths and other contributors.

The delegation present at the event included Hon. Amobi Okonkwo (Chairman), Chinedu Osumuo (Secretary), Obiajulu Ifebi (Financial Secretary), Izunna Ejebi, and Ifeanyi Okoli

The event epitomizes the unwavering commitment of the Okofia Progressives Youths Movement to educational advancement and community development, epitomizing the spirit of collective responsibility and altruism.

“Together, we can make our communities a better place by securing a brighter future today”, they assured.
