By: John Bassey, Kebbi.

Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, has commended Alhaji Faruk Musa Yaro (Enabo), Chairman of the State Pilgrims Welfare Agency, for organising the largest empowerment programme in the history of the state.

The initiative, under the Alhaji Faruk Enabo Foundation, benefited over 10,000 people in Marafa Ward of Birnin Kebbi Local Government with 50 cars, 100 motorcycles, 50 water pumps, 5,000 bags of assorted grains, sports jerseys, and cash assistance totalling N250 million.

Governor Idris applauded Enabo for remembering APC supporters and urged politicians and office holders to emulate him.

“I will not hesitate to support any individual like Enabo who carries his people along,” he assured.

He reiterated that democracy is about empowering the people and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to rolling out multiple empowerment programmes, especially for women, youths, and farmers through free fertilizer and agricultural inputs.

He also called on the people of Kebbi to continue supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the APC, noting that Tinubu has delivered many projects to the state and deserves a second term.

Former Governor of Kebbi State and Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, equally praised Enabo and urged other stakeholders to replicate such gestures in their wards.

The Governor’s wives, Hajiya Zainab Nasare Idris and Hajiya Nafisa Nasir Idris, also applauded Enabo’s benevolence, particularly to women.

They donated cash, clothing, and ₦10 million to women’s groups in Marafa Ward.

Other dignitaries, including the State APC Chairman, Alhaji Abubakar Kana-Zuru; Ubandoman Gwandu, Alhaji Saddiq Saad; Alhaji Nasiru Langu, and Alhaji Sanusi Jinsy, also commended Enabo’s efforts and urged continued government support for his initiatives.

In his remarks, Enabo said the inspiration for the empowerment programme came from both Senator Bagudu and Governor Idris.

He pledged to sustain people-centered initiatives, stressing that true politics is about winning hearts through positive impact, not acrimony.
