Gov Idris approves N2.1 Billion for drainage, roads construction in kebbi

Kebbi State Governor Nasir Idris has approved the construction of access roads and drainage system in the Badariya area of Birnin Kebbi Local Government.

Formal agreement was signed on Wednesday at the Ministry of Works by the Commissioner, Hon. Engr. ABDULLAHI Umar Faruq Muslim, on behalf of the State Government, and Bashar Shamaki, a Director representing the construction firm, B-Tech Global Investment Services Limited.

At the ceremony, the Commissioner explained that the project entailed the construction of four roads with comprehensive drainage system, spanning a total length of 2.145 kilometers.

The project is valued at N2,174,633,033.21 billion and scheduled to be completed within 18 months timeframe.

Engr. Muslim described Badariya as one of the most densely populated areas in the state capital, which galvanized Governor Idris to construct additional road infrastructure to meet the needs of the residents and commuters.

He directed the construction firm to strictly adhere to the terms of the agreement and execute high quality job.

“The era of substandard projects in Kebbi State is over, His Excellency, Comrade. Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu cherishes only top quality work,” he emphasised.

The Commissioner further announced that arrangements have been finalized for the payment of 40% mobilization fees, urging the contractor to move to the site within two weeks.

“This project aligns with the administration’s commitment to grassroots development. It responds directly to the needs and aspirations of the people, reflecting the commitment of Governor Nasir Idris to positively impact lives,” he added.

He made it clear that engineers from the Ministry of Works would closely supervise and monitor the project to ensure strict compliance with the specifications.

In response, Bashar Shamaki, Director of B-Tech Global Investment Services Limited, assured the Commissioner of the company’s determination to executing the project in line with the agreed standards, pledging to deliver quality work.
