Soccer fans within Minna and it’s environ who are supporters of Niger state darling team have to take a break as the Football governing body in the country, the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has barred Niger Tornadoes from using the Minna Township Stadium for the 2025/26 season.

This is due to the fact that the facility failed to meet the required infrastructure standards set out in the league’s Club Licensing Regulations which can be attributed the negliance of the owner of the Club, the Niger state government.

In an official statement, the NPFL confirmed that the Ikon Allah Boys will now play their home matches at the Rasheedi Yekini Mainbowl in Ilorin, Kwara State.

The league body also clarified that the club retains the option of nominating another approved stadium should they wish to.

As a result of the decision, Niger Tornadoes’ season opener against Nasarawa United, initially scheduled for Sunday, August 24, 2025, in Minna, has been rescheduled to Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at the Ilorin venue.

This development marks a significant setback for the Minna-based club, whose supporters will now have to travel to Ilorin to watch their team’s home fixtures.
