INEC to hold supplementary election on August 21st in Zamfara

The Zamfara state chapter of the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC, under the leadership of Honourable Dr. Mahmuda Isah, has rescheduled the supplementary election for three wards under Kaura Namoda South on Thursday, 21st August 2025.

This was disclosed by the Zamfara state INEC Commissioner, Dr. Mahmuda Isah while addressing journalists on the outcome of the bye-election at his office in Gusau the state capital.

Dr. Isah said that the new date for the supplementary election was necessary due to the bye-election exercise declared inconclusive on Saturday, August 16th 2025.

“INEC is saddled with the constitutional responsibility of ensuring peaceful, satisfying and transparent electoral process and we are committed to put in our best to ensure a successful election process in Kaura Namoda South state constituency” he said.

Furthermore, Dr. Isah said that the supplementary election would take place at Kambarawa, Aure and Sakajiki Wards of Kaura Namoda South state constituency.

Every item has been mobilized to ensure a free, fair and credible election for the people come Thursday, he added.

He dismissed the rumours going round social media and some quarters that he was bribed with certain amount of money to favour a particular party against the other, describing it as untrue and wicked lie which is promoted by the enemies of Zamfara state to water down his sincerity and democracy in the state.

He urged everyone to disbelieve such lies and trust in the integrity of the state INEC to remain fair and honest to all.
