Zamfara Gov hails Corps Members, Pledges continued Support

The Governor of Zamfara State, Dr. Dauda Lawal, has commended the 2025 Batch ‘B’ Stream I corps members deployed to the state for their resilience and discipline during the three-week orientation course.

Governor Lawal gave the commendation during a speech at the closing ceremony of the Orientation Camp held at the UBEC Training Centre in Gusau on Tuesday.

The governor who was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Youths and Sports, Alhaji Nasiru Galadima Kaura reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to corps members welfare and security.

Governor Lawal praised the NYSC as a vital platform for national integration and socio-economic development, noting its significant impact in the state’s education, health and agriculture sectors.

The governor urged the corps members to approach their primary assignments with dedication and to see the service year as an opportunity to make meaningful contributions to the state and nation.

His words, “As you proceed to the second phase of your service year in the place of your primary assignment, I encourage you to put in your very best”.

“See this as an opportunity to touch lives, transfer knowledge, and contribute meaningfully to the development of our state and nation.

“Let me assure you that outstanding corps members who distinguish themselves during the service year will be duly recognized and rewarded.”

In his remark, the NYSC Zamfara State Coordinator, Mal. Muhammad Lawan Ahmed disclosed that the corps members were trained in various areas which include drills, leadership training, Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development as well as lectures on national issues, security, and cultural integration among others. during the Orientation Course.

The Coordinator thanked the Governor for his consistent support, and appealed for a larger camp venue that would accommodate the increasing number of corps members posted to the state.
