ADO North LCDA boss, commissions solar powered bore hole, empowers 200 with start up kits

At least 200 people in Ado North Local Council Development Area have benefited from an empowerment programme organized to alleviate poverty, provide economic support courtesy Chairman of the Council Development Area, Mrs Olatokunbo Gbadamosi.

Speaking during the empowerment Programme held at Oke-Ila area of Ado Ekiti, the Chairman said that the empowerment programme was also organized to improve the living standard of the residents and put the beneficiaries on the path of financial independence.

Items distributed by the council boss during the well attended ceremony include Start Up kits such as POS machines, grinding and sewing machines, catering equipment, and Hairdressing tools.

Other materials distributed to beneficiaries at the ceremony include herbicides, spray pumps , gas cookers as well as crash helmets and engine oil for Okada riders while about 55 elderly citizens received cash gifts under the Owo Arugbo scheme.

While stressing that the empowerment Programme was in tandem with Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s shared prosperity agenda, the Council Boss explained that beneficiaries were selected without political affiliation urging beneficiaries to make the best use of all the items.

Speaking at the event, the Eyesorun of Ado Ekiti, Olori Bosede Adejugbe commended the Ado North LCDA Chairman for her commitment towards improving the living standard of people in the
Council Area.

In his remarks, The State APC Chairman, Hon Sola Elesin lauded the council Boss for representing the party well and urged her to be relentless.

Party leaders at the event said that the empowerment initiative would create new avenues for financial growth and economic development of the council.

Some of the beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the initiative and commended Mrs Gbadamosi for her efforts to uplift the local government through impactful projects.

High point of the event was the inauguration of a solar powered boreholes constructed for the Orita Blessing /Okeila community by the LCDA.

Mrs. Gbadamosi and other leaders present appealed to the people of Oke-Ila to make good use of the borehole.

Members of the community expressed appreciation to the Chairman for the gesture.
