Ogun NUJ celebrates Muyiwa Adejobi on promotion to Deputy Commissioner of Police

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ogun State Council, has congratulated Muyiwa Adejobi on his recent promotion to the rank of Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), describing the advancement as a well-earned recognition of his professionalism, dedication, and service to the nation.

In a statement jointly signed by the Council Chairman, Comrade Wale Olanrewaju, and Secretary, Comrade Bunmi Adigun, the Union praised DCP Adejobi for his outstanding record in law enforcement and his consistent support for press freedom and public engagement.

Adejobi, a former Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in Ogun State and the current PPRO at the federal level, was lauded for his transparent communication style, respect for media ethics, and his collaborative relationship with journalists during his tenure in the state.

“His promotion is not just a personal achievement but a source of pride for the media community and the people of Ogun State,” the statement read. “DCP Adejobi’s rise through the ranks underscores the value of integrity, hard work, and commitment in public service.”

The NUJ further commended Adejobi’s continued partnership with the media in promoting peace and accountability, describing him as “a friend of the press” whose humility, professionalism, and loyalty have set him apart.

The Council expressed optimism that his new role would further strengthen the bond between the police and the media, fostering better collaboration in building a more secure and informed society.

“We urge DCP Adejobi to remain a shining example to younger officers and to continue upholding the values that have shaped his distinguished career,” the Union added.
