The Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps, also known as So-Safe Corps, has arrested a 25-year-old man, Sodiq Kamoru, for allegedly stealing a 1.5-horsepower pumping machine from a farmland in Lokoji, Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area.

Kamoru was reportedly caught in the act on Monday while attempting to flee the scene after removing the machine from the farm.

According to a statement issued by the State Commander of the Corps, Commander Soji Ganzallo, on Wednesday, the arrest followed a distress call received by officers of the Mokoloki-Ofada Area Command during a routine patrol.

“The officers, led by Assistant Commander Odetayo Amidu, acted swiftly on the tip-off and arrested the suspect at the scene of the crime,” the statement said.

Commander Ganzallo revealed that the suspect, a resident of Bisodun in Obafemi-Owode, was apprehended around 1:37 p.m. and found in possession of the stolen pumping machine.

He added that Kamoru and the recovered item have been transferred to the Nigeria Police Force, Iro Division, for further investigation and possible prosecution.

While commending the prompt response and professionalism of the operatives involved, Ganzallo reiterated the agency’s commitment to ensuring the safety of lives and property in all parts of the state.

“No part of Ogun will be left vulnerable. Security remains our top priority,” he declared.
