Kebbi Govt restates commitment to sports development

The Kebbi State Governor, His Excellency, Comrade Dr Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, has expressed the readiness of his administration to improving the stranded of sporting activities in the state.

He made this known at the final of Annual Football Competition sponsored by the Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the governor, Alhaji Ahmed Idris held at Baura Quarter in Birnin Kebbi.

The final match was between Ribadu Football Club and Dangidigi Football Club.

The governor, who was represented by Abubakar Ribadu Kalgo, appreciated the organisers of the competition for their foresight and determination to foster unity amongst the youth.

This, according to him, will not only go along way in boosting the moral of youth but will also build bridges and cement relationship among different communities.

While appreciating the clubs for tactical display of discipline, decorum and understanding, the governor announced the donation of N1 million to the participating teams.

Also speaking, the sponsor of competition, who is also the CPS to the governor, Alhaji Ahmed Idris, represented by Abubakar shehu, said the annual competition between different clubs was meant to boost the morale of the youth.

Idris assured the clubs of his willingness to sustain the competition to further mentor and motivate the young ones to grow.

He announced the donation of Jessy and N50,000 to the participating teams.

The final match between Rabadu Football Club and Dangidigi Football Club ended 2:0 in favour of Rabadu Football Club, Dangidigi Football Club came second, while, the Chief Press Secretary to the governor’s Football Club clinched third position.
