Ogun LG Election: Tribunal  Bars Journalists From Sitting

      There was a mild drama at the sitting of the  three-man panel adjudicating  on the  grievances  arising from the Ogun Local Government  Election as the Chairman  of the tribunal  Rotimi Onafadeji bars journalists  from covering the proceedings  of the Tribunal.     

Onafedeji, prior  to the commencement  of the  proceedings,  informed newsmen that had gathered  at the Magistrate Court venue of the sitting  ,   that  recording  or covering  of the proceedings  in any form is not allowed.      Subsequently  ,newsmen  that had converged on the venue of the sitting  were bared from performing  their  duty.”

In his words ” Please , all pressmen that are here , there is no camera  recording,  phone,  audio recording.  Thank  you.     Recall that the Ogun State Local Government  election was held in August  with the ruling  party  in the state APC  claiming victory  in all the 20 Local Government  Chairmanship positions.    

Though the major opposition  party in the state the PDP withdrew its participation from the local Government  Election  citing bias on the part of the election umpire in the state for supporting  a faction of the PDP.   

 The opposition  in the state has been crying wolf since the results  of the local government  election were  released .Action Alliance  ( AA) and New Nigeria People’s Party  had  sought the nullification of the result of the election calling it a charade
