Gov Idris commends LG Chairmen for excellence performance

Kebbi State Governor Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris has commended the 21 Local Government Chairmen and their Councillors for their commendable performance and dedication to grassroots development.
The governor made the remarks while addressing journalists after a consultative meeting with the 21 Local Government Chairmen, Vice Chairmen, and 225 Councillors at the Government House, Birnin Kebbi, on Sunday.
Governor Idris described the local councils as vital partners in progress and urged them to continue aligning with the vision of the APC-led administration in delivering good governance at the grassroots.
“I am impressed with their performance. The Chairmen have shown unwavering loyalty and support to my administration,” he stated.
“They are the people’s choice, and the era of hand-picking candidates is over. Along with their Councillors, they have effectively steered the affairs of their communities.”
The governor explained that the meeting was aimed at engaging the LG leadership to better understand challenges at the grassroots and formulate effective responses.
“Such engagements will help us address key issues and fast-track development. My administration is committed to continuous consultation with stakeholders to enhance the socio-economic well-being of our people,” he added.
Governor Idris also noted that the Chairmen and Councillors reaffirmed their confidence in his administration and commended the leadership style that has fostered good governance in the state.
Leading the delegation was the State ALGON Chairman and Birnin Kebbi LG Chairman, Alhaji Muhammad Dahiru Nayaya Ambursa. Speaking to journalists, Nayaya said the meeting was crucial for enhancing rural development.
“Comrade Nasir Idris is the most compassionate and benevolent leader since the creation of Kebbi State.
He has positively transformed the lives of our people. We appreciate his leadership and reaffirm our loyalty and support to his administration,” he said.
Also present at the meeting were the Secretary to the State Government, Yakubu Bala Tafida; APC State Chairman, Abubakar Kana Zuru; Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Garba Umar Dutsinmari; and the Accountant-General of the State, Muhammad Bello Ibrahim Nahaliku.
