The Congress equally commended the workers-friendly State Governor for the massive uncommon infrastructural development projects he has embarked on visibly across the State, including the upgrading and retrofitting of government offices as well as restoring light and water at the Ogurube Layout Workers Secretariat, thereby providing a conducive environment and offices for workers to seamlessly discharge their duties.
As regards the recent pronouncement of the government for the recruitment of an additional four thousand teachers, Congress expressed excitement and applauded the Governor’s commitment and determination to ensure quality education, which is the bedrock of development.
In view of the commencement of the farming season, the Congress equally urges the State government to step up its security strategies by collaborating with stakeholders in security matters including Homeland security outfits, traditional rulers, and town Union leaders to ensure that farmers are not distracted by insecurity in engaging in farming and urged government to encourage farmers with fertilizers and other farm implements to boost farm products for food sufficiency in the State.
Lastly, as the State Government is planning its mid-term anniversary, the Union requests for partnership with the state government in causing the Ministries, departments, and agencies of the government to make efforts to avail their scorecards to the Nigeria Union of Journalists for their fundamental roles of holding leaders accountable for the benefit of the people.
