Hajj 2025: Ogun Gov’t appoints Apelogun as Amirul Hajj, names welfare committee members

The Ogun State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has appointed Prince Adebayo Apelogun, National President of the Amalgamated Commercial Tricycle and Motorcycle Owners, Repairs and Riders Association of Nigeria (ACOMORAN), as the Amirul Hajj for the 2025 pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia.
In a statement released on Friday, the board also named thirteen others as members of the Hajj welfare ad-hoc committee. Sheikh Ishaq Olorungbebe was appointed as the committee chairman.
Other members of the committee include Sheik Lawal Iskeel (Sugar), Sheikh Shile Rufai, Imam Sabeeq Aladi Ibrahim, Sheik Wasiu Raheem Balogun, Imam Abdul-Lateef Ismail Afolabi, TPL. Ogunfowora Kamoru Olayiwola, Alhaji (Imam) Hassan Tijani, Alhaji Hussein Oredipe Mustapha, and Alhaji (Imam) Uthman Akewukanwo.
Also on the list are Alhaja Alarise Korede Fausat, Alhaja Egunjobi Kafilat Aderonke, and Alhaja Jinadu Zainab Iyabode.
The board urged all committee members to carry out their duties with dedication and a strong sense of responsibility to ensure the welfare, comfort, and safety of pilgrims from the state.
