Easter Celebration: Ogun NSCDC deploys 2,740 personnel to bolster security

In preparation for the upcoming Easter celebration and the public holidays declared for Friday, April 18, and Monday, April 21, 2025, the Ogun State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has announced the deployment of 2,740 personnel across the state to ensure tight security.

The deployment, approved by the State Commandant, Commandant Remilekun Omolade Ekundayo, covers all 74 formations of the Corps within Ogun State. According to the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Dyke Ogbonnaya, the personnel will be stationed at strategic locations including churches, markets, motor parks, recreational centers, and other public places to maintain law and order during the festive period.

To ensure effective coordination, monitoring teams have been established within the metropolis and across all areas and divisional commands. Commandant Ekundayo has also directed Area Commanders and Divisional Officers to enforce strict compliance with the deployment directives and to collaborate closely with other security agencies in maintaining peace and safety throughout the state.

While extending her Easter greetings to residents, Commandant Ekundayo urged the public to remain calm, celebrate responsibly, and provide actionable intelligence that could help prevent any form of insecurity within the Gateway State.

“I urge everyone to celebrate calmly and with caution while also shunning all acts capable of causing any public disturbance, unrest, or havoc before, during,, and after the festivities,” she advised.
