NDLEA Bayelsa commends flags-off WADA sensitization in Amassoma Community, Southern Ijaw LGA

As part of its bid to rid society of drug abuse and its concomitant effects, the NDLEA on 18th February 2025 the State Commander NDLEA Bayelsa State Command Commander Kanu Sunny Chukwuemeka, CN has flagged off A 5- Day WADA sensitization campaign with the Theme: “Safer Communities Without Illicit Drugs” in Amassoma community, Southern Ijaw Local Government Area, (SILGA), Bayelsa State.
According to a statement signed by Obah Daniel Howells, SN, Public Relations Officer of NDLEA Bayelsa State Command, day 1 activities featured Anti Drug Abuse lectures at Government Secondary Amassoma and Community Secondary School, Amassoma.
Resource persons were DSC DDR DCN Francis Chia, PhD, and ACN Godwin Erepa, and the sensitization Program was well attended by both Head and members of the Amassoma Vigilante Group and counterparts from the Boy Scouts in Amassoma.
The programme, he said received the full support of Engr. God knows Alamieyeseigha State Director, NDDC Bayelsa State, who hails from Amassoma feels burdened by the alarming rate of drug abuse among youths.
