Niger speaker urges 10th legislature to be more committed to their constituencies

Speaker of the Niger State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Barr. Muhammad Abdulmalik Sarkin Daji has called on members of the tenth legislature to enhance their commitment to serving their constituencies.
This message came during a welcome address following their return from a seven-week annual recess, marking the 123rd sitting of the tenth legislative assembly.
The session was chaired by the Deputy Speaker, Hon. Afenike Dauda, representing the Gurara constituency.
Hon. Sarkin Daji emphasized his dedication to the training and re-training of legislators and staff to strengthen capacity building, urging full cooperation to ensure efficiency.
In addition, a minor reshuffle was announced, with Hon. Musa Baba Etsugaie of Agaie constituency appointed as the new Chairman of the House Committee on Religious Affairs, and Hon. Isah Abdullahi of Kontagora II moved to chair the Public Petition and Ethics Committee.
During the sitting, two bills were introduced for the first reading by the Majority Leader, Hon. Idris Musa Vatsa, representing the Lapai constituency.
The bills propose amendments to the Niger State Emergency Management Agency Law of 2008 and the Niger State Environmental Protection Agency (Amendment) Law of 2022.
